Converted VW minibus run up and down this old road to a terminal "Garita", near the market. From there, white VW minibuses, called burritos, make the circuit through and around town, picking up and dropping off passengers along the route, from about 7am until 9pm. $0.5 per ticket.
VW Taxis are plenty and usually cost $2. Avoid driving to and in Taxco: parking is virtually non-existent.
