Weather
It is nice and warm all year long in Acapulco. During the rainy season (June-September), afternoon showers are common, but rarely last more than a couple of hours.
October through May are generally the driest months. The western coast of Guerrero has an arid/humid climate compared to its interior tropical areas which are usually more moist.
Geography, Flora & Fauna
Guerrero lies in the south central part of Western Mexico and is part of the Pacific littoral. Guerrero borders the Mexican states of Michuacon, Puebla, Oaxaca, the small state of Morelos, and Mexico D.F. Vast sandy beaches line the western coast of Guerrero. Further inland, across tropical lowlands, run the mountain ranges of the Sierra Madre.
In the highlands along the hills of the Sierra Madre are various species of pines and oaks. These native species are dwindling and not as numerous as they once were.
Restaurants
Going out to dinner is one of the great pastimes in Acapulco, and you have to work hard to spend more than $50 a head, even at the fanciest restaurants. As is often the case in Mexico, more expensive restaurants won’t get you better food, only more waiters to serve it. More Info
Lodging
Acapulco is both a large resort and a large city, so hotel rooms are plentiful at every price range. Hotels sell out for the week after Christmas or the week before Easter, but for the rest of the year reservations are optional. Mexicans tourists often tell the taxi at the airport which part of the city to go to, and then shop for a hotel on foot. More Info
