The best spot for beach sports in Acapulco (source)

The trendy part of town east of the main bay, beyond Puerto Marques, is Diamond Acapulco. Here is where some of Acapulco's wealthiest citizens have moved to over the past decade or so.
Built more recently as a luxury tourist resort, this area of almost 3,000 acres of natural beauty and incomparable views is still experiencing heavy construction. Since the Old Bay of Golden Acapulco ran out of space long ago, all the newest construction in town is located in this area, including a few championship golf courses. It will eventually be comprised of several all-in-one resorts, condominiums, shopping centers and cinemas, recreational facilities and beach clubs.
Playa Revolcadero
Revolcadero, the main beach of Acapulco Diamante, has rolling open-ocean billows which the main bay lacks, making some surfing possible here. Rough waves are good for boogie boarding, bodysurfing and some surfing and windsurfing for beginners. Swimming in this area can be quite challenging, however.
Yet most people come here for the beach itself: Revolcadero is the only place around suitable for beach sports, thanks to its vast expanses of compact white sand.
